It is hard to believe that June 30 th will be my last day as principal of École KLO Middle School. As of July 1 st , I will be taking on a new role as principal of Kelowna Secondary School. Even though I have only been at École KLO Middle School for a short time, it is difficult to leave a school with such a strong sense of culture and community.
Parent involvement and community support have definitely played an important role in creating the wonderful culture that I experienced at École KLO Middle School. It has also been an honour to work with a dedicated staff who contribute endless hours above and beyond to ensure every student at École KLO Middle School feels successful and connected to our school. All students have an opportunity to experience a wonderful selection of academic and extra-curricular opportunities. I feel very fortunate to have been part of an amazing school.
It is my pleasure to welcome the new principal, Ashley Ragoonaden. Mr. Ragoonaden began his teaching career in School District #23 at École KLO Middle School in 2005. Mr. Ragoonaden taught French Immersion Math and Science for two years prior to moving into the Behaviour Support role at KLO.
His first administrative assignment was as the vice-principal at Rutland Middle School. He then joined the Constable Neil Bruce administrative team as Principal for the past 4 years. Mr. Ragoonaden is a strong leader who understands the unique developmental needs of young adolescents. I want to take this opportunity to welcome Mr. Ragoonaden on behalf of École KLO Middle School.
Thank you to the KLO community for making my time at École KLO Middle School such a memorable experience!
