 COUNSELLING SERVICES AT KLO
Our school counsellors are available for consultation with staff, students, and parent(s), and will be working closely with the Student Services Department. Students wishing to see a counsellor should come to the counseling centre during non instructional time and fill out an appointment slip. Normally, the counsellor will then come and get the student at a convenient time, or will bring the appointment slip to the student.
Counseling is designed to:
? facilitate the students’ understanding and ability to deal with personal and social matters;
? educate students who have concerns about education and career;
? provide service to individuals, groups or families;
? involve consultation with parents, teachers and administrators;
? offer developmental, remedial and preventative programs; and
? provide a referral service for the school community, to specialized resources in the school or community.
